Photographer needed for the Ballyhoura Beast on the August bank holiday!

Could you help capture the intensity of one of Ireland’s most challenging adventure races?

Ballyhoura Fáilte promotes tourism in East County Limerick and North East County Cork.  Every year on the August Bank Holiday weekend, they organise the Ballyhoura Beast, uniquely Irish 36 hour non-stop race across the ancient & magical surroundings of counties Cork, Limerick & Tipperary. Mixed teams of four mountain run, bike, kayak, abseil, orienteer & shoot, navigating the best route to win.

If you would be available over the weekend to help photograph and video the event, please contact Pádraig Casey on 063 91300 or email pcasey@ballyhoura.org

You can also search for this position and apply online (look in the Sports/Recreation category)

I’m very interested in this oppotunity, and could you tell me when exactly the race pass limerick? and the route in Limerick? I have no cars, so need to make a travel plan to get there on time. thanks

  2. Thomas Bibby says:

Hi Briana, the exact route is a secret (to make sure competitors are on an even playing field!), but will be around the Ballyhoura mountains in South-East County Limerick and North-East County Cork.
I’m sure if you made it to Kilfinane you’ll be close enough for someone to give you a lift — you can find out bus timetables at http://www.buseireann.ie
The best thing to do would be to get in touch with the organiser Pádraig Casey of Ballyhoura Fáilte: pcasey@ballyhoura.org to find out where the volunteer photographer is needed.
    Thanks for commenting!
